Frequently asked questions
This is a live e-commerce website which allows you to browse the online gallery and add items to your Shopping Cart simply by clicking on the “Add to Cart” button, located at the bottom of every product page. You can view the contents of your shopping cart at any time by using the “View Cart” button at the top of the page.
When you purchase products from our site, you can be assured that we are using the most advanced methods possible to protect the integrity of our security. During the checkout process, your credit card details are encrypted before the transaction is processed. At no time are your credit card details stored on our server, or made visible to us.
One other aspect on online purchasing by credit card is that you are protected from unscrupulous dealers by the cards’ own policies. If goods are not delivered, but are charged for, your credit card company will refund the money to you and pursue the dealer to recoup the cost. This is one of the reasons that we use well known courier companies such as TNT and Australia Post for deliveries so that we have a tracking number for all shipments in the unlikely event of a delivery being mislaid.

Whenever a panoramic image from the Richard Smyth Wild Earth Images collection is produced onto canvas, it becomes part of a limited edition of a certain number of pictures sold. (ie 1/300 is the first print of only 300 prints sold). Each print is then registered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, to guarantee exclusive ownership.
Richard Smyth Wild Earth Images accepts payment by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), credit card (Visa and MasterCard) and cheque (sent to our PO Box address) or you may prefer to fax an order to us. All products are priced and paid for in Australian dollars. International customers can view the total price in their own currency using the currency converter link provided.
All prints sent within Australia are securely packaged and courier delivered door-to-door by TNT and fully insured. This includes ready to hang framed prints and stretched canvases (within Australia only). For orders sent overseas, the pictures are rolled up in secure tubes to be framed later by the purchaser. Please contact us for more details.
We offer a world-wide door-to-door fully insured delivery service with Australia Post for archival photographic prints and canvases rolled up securely in robust postage tubes (unmatted, unframed and unstretched). Please be assured that we are actively investigating ways to ship fragile items abroad inexpensively such as framed prints (with glass) and stretched canvases without them being damaged by customs or transit officials.
As all our products are individually produced, please allow 2-4 weeks production time from order to delivery. Normally delivery will not take that long, but there is no way of accounting for any shipping and customs delays which are out of our control. If an item is out of stock or is to be produced for the first time on canvas, you may be advised that your order could take an extra week or two to arrive.
Our delivery charges include postage, packaging, door-to-door courier delivery and full insurance for your extra peace of mind.
Once your order has been placed, if one of the products you ordered is temporarily out of stock, we will send you an e-mail message to notify you as soon as possible of the estimated delivery timing.
All prints are packed to the highest standards, but in the unlikely event of damage occuring during transit, the print will simply be replaced at no cost to the buyer.
All our photographic prints are printed on high quality, archival photographic paper or canvas, printed in a professional photographic laboratory. Our prints will last a lifetime (up to 70 years) as long as they are kept out of direct sunlight and kept indoors (and paper prints properly framed).
Yes, as will all art. The print should be properly framed and displayed in normal indoor conditions for maximum life and not hung in direct sunlight.
No, that is not necessary. The canvases are already framed (or “stretched”) with the image wrapped around the stretcher bars to give an impressive 3 dimensional look. If it is to be posted overseas, the canvas will not be stretched but will be sent rolled up in a tube. (Some goods can be sent made up overseas but please email for more information).
Yes, several frames available, including Bushfire Burnt Edge, Silver, Jarrah Tint and Light Walnut Tint. Our on-line image gallery allows you to see what the image looks like in each frame when you select each one. If the picture is to be sent overseas, it will not be framed but will be rolled up in a tube.
Yes. Please contact us for more details.
Our on-line system begins processing accepted orders immediately and is therefore unable to accept order cancellation requests once you have received an order confirmation. If an order is processed in error, please contact us immediately on +61 419 905906 for further instructions.
