HM Queen Elizabeth II, the Prime Minister of Australia and other Commonwealth Heads of States now own one of Richard Smyth’s photographs as an official memento for attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) for their visit to Perth in 2011. The framed picture selected for all delegates was taken as the sun went down at Lucky Bay in Esperance, Western Australia and is entitled “Sunset, Western Australia”. Richard was commissioned to provide pictures for all the delegates on the trip. “I tried to capture the tranquil beauty of West Australia” said Richard. “It is certainly an honour to have my pictures recognised and one of the biggest highlights in my photographic career.”
